Olo Runs Online Ordering. AI Answers the Phone.

Olo and DineCall AI are built for different ordering channels. Here is what happens when they run together — and why the phone is the one channel Olo cannot automate.

Olo and DineCall AI are not competing platforms. They are built for different channels. Olo automates the digital ordering and delivery channel — the online order. DineCall AI automates the phone channel. The restaurant benefits from both: the online order that comes through Olo, and the phone order that would otherwise be lost.

What Olo is built for

Olo powers digital ordering and delivery for many of the largest restaurant brands. It handles the online order: the consumer-facing menu and the order capture. For a restaurant running Olo, the digital ordering channel is covered.

DineCall AI does not replace Olo — it runs a different channel. The Olo setup stays exactly as it is.

The channel Olo cannot automate

Olo automates the online order. It does not pick up the phone. The phone channel — the caller who wants to order but prefers not to use an app, the guest who wants to confirm something before ordering, the regular who wants their usual read back over the phone — is outside Olo's scope.

In most restaurants running Olo, that phone call still requires a person: a host who steps away from the floor, a manager who pauses what they are doing, or a voicemail that nobody calls back.

DineCall AI answers that channel. It picks up before the second ring, 24/7, in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin — within one or two words of the greeting, switching voice model mid-call when the caller switches language. It takes the complete order on the call.

Two channels, one kitchen board

DineCall works with Olo alongside the other systems already in use — POS KING, Square, Toast, Clover, SpotOn, NCR Aloha, Shift4, RestoSuite, and OpenTable — or through a clean ordering API. Orders land on DineCall's live board; depending on your setup, they can also flow into your Olo workflow through our ordering API — we confirm the exact wiring during your demo.

King Do Seafood in Surrey, BC has taken over 100 phone orders by AI. Lao Cai on Marine Drive handles both food orders and table reservations on the same line, in English and 中文.

The restaurant keeps its existing phone number. Setup takes 2–3 business days. There is no new hardware.

What happens on the board

Every confirmed phone order appears on the live kitchen board immediately, in the order it arrived, with no new interface to learn.

When the AI's speech confidence drops below 70%, or when a caller asks for a manager, the call routes to a person — via a phone ring or dashboard alert to staff, or a callback ticket if lines are busy during setup.

Pricing

One flat monthly fee, and no commission on any order: $199 CAD a month for the first 100 partner restaurants, locked in for as long as they stay, then $399 CAD a month. That includes AI phone answering, table reservations, online ordering, QR ordering, and a restaurant website. No setup cost.

Olo's own pricing is unaffected. Both platforms run in parallel.
