Shift4 Runs the Payments. AI Answers the Phone.
Shift4 is built around integrated payments and POS for restaurants and hospitality. DineCall AI runs the phone line — the channel that brings in the orders before the payment ever happens.
A restaurant that runs Shift4 is using one of the payments platforms that sits at the centre of the transaction — the moment the guest pays, the invoice closes, the night's revenue is recorded. What Shift4 does not do is the moment before that: the phone call that brings in the order in the first place.
What Shift4 is built for
Shift4 delivers integrated payments and POS solutions — including SkyTab — for restaurants and hospitality. Its core is the payment transaction: card processing, integrated POS, and the financial layer that makes the whole transaction settle cleanly. For restaurants running Shift4, the payment side of the operation is covered by a platform built for the complexity of hospitality transactions.
DineCall AI does not replace Shift4 — it runs alongside it. The payment setup, the POS configuration, the transaction flow: none of it is touched.
The moment before the payment
Shift4 processes the payment. The phone call that arrives before the guest walks in — the food order, the table reservation, the question about hours — is outside the payment flow. In most restaurants running Shift4, that call still requires a person to handle it.
That gap has a real cost. For a restaurant, an unanswered call is a table not booked and an order not taken — before Shift4 ever processes a payment.
DineCall AI answers that gap. It picks up before the second ring, 24/7, in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin — within one or two words of the greeting, switching voice model mid-call when the caller switches language. It takes the complete order on the call.
How the integration works
DineCall works with Shift4 alongside the other systems already in use — POS KING, Square, Toast, Clover, SpotOn, NCR Aloha, RestoSuite, Olo, and OpenTable — or through a clean ordering API. Orders land on DineCall's live board; depending on your setup, they can also flow into your Shift4 workflow through our ordering API — we confirm the exact wiring during your demo.
King Do Seafood in Surrey, BC has taken over 100 phone orders by AI. Lao Cai on Marine Drive handles both food orders and table reservations on the same line, in English and 中文.
The restaurant keeps its existing phone number. Setup takes 2–3 business days. There is no new hardware.
What happens on the board
Every confirmed phone order appears on the live kitchen board immediately, in the order it arrived, with no new interface to learn. The AI has already confirmed the order with the caller on the call.
When the AI's speech confidence drops below 70%, or when a caller asks for a manager, the call routes to a person — via a phone ring or dashboard alert to staff, or a callback ticket if lines are busy.
Pricing
One flat monthly fee, and no commission on any order: $199 CAD a month for the first 100 partner restaurants, locked in for as long as they stay, then $399 CAD a month. That includes AI phone answering, table reservations, online ordering, QR ordering, and a restaurant website. No setup cost.
Shift4's own payment processing pricing is unaffected. Both platforms run in parallel.
